What’s on offer?

- Meet other dads and get involved in local community projects, such as Forest School (Friday 9.15 - 11.30).
- Parenting matters and support.
- Emotional support.
- Saturday morning breakfast club (every other Saturday 10.00-12.00 in the Woodlands building).
- Training
courses.
- Access to other services.
- Confidence building.
- Sports/leisure activities.

In 2009, the Forest Children’s Centre Dad’s Group were awarded the The Forestry Commission Wales Woodland Award.  Since being set up in 2007, the Dad’s Group has removed over seven tonnes of waste from wooded areas in the locality in order to act as role models for children.  Click the award ceremony photo on the right to enlarge it.

- Who are looking for help and support with any issues.
- Who want to give a head start to their child/children’s education.
- New dads and dads to be who need practical help and support about their new role.

There is also a social side...

- Have fun spending time with you child/children.
- Meet other dads and talk about everyday issues and share experiences.

Why are dads so important?

- Mounting research has shown the important role dads play in parenting.
- Involved dads can have a huge impact on a child’s wellbeing and development.
- Dad’s matter too... just ask their kids...
