How can I get the sound and video files and games to work?

Some pages on our website have videos, sounds and games on them.

Most of these should work automatically, especially on newer computers, but if some of them do not work, you may have to download some extra software from the internet.

Most of the sounds, videos and games on our website use Adobe’s popular, free ‘Flash’ player.

If you can see the bees flying around in the box on the right, you already have it installed.  If you cannot see the bees flying around, you need to install the free flash player.  Get it
here...

Using the flash media player on the web site to play sounds and videos is just like using a DVD player!  The player bar here is just an example and does not work.

The first button is the play and pause button, used to play and pause! The first set of numbers is a counter telling you how much of the video or sound file you have watched or listened to. The long dark bar in the middle, which turns orange as the file plays, is the ‘seek’ bar, which you can use to go to any part of the file at any time - just drag it. The second set of numbers show you how long the sound or video file actually is. The next button controls the volume - more orange more sound, less orange less sound. The button with the little arrows on is the ‘full screen’ button, which makes any video fill your whole screen. Press the ‘Esc’ button on your keyboard to leave full screen mode.

media_player_iconVery rarely, some files might need another sound or video player to work.  These files will usually play in, for example, Microsoft’s Media Player, although other players are available.  Most computers that have Microsoft Windows on them will already have Media Player installed.  If you do not have it installed, you can download the latest version
here...
