If you are currently out of work and need support and guidance, pop into the Centre!
You may be facing a range of barriers to work, for example lack of skills or qualifications, motivation, childcare needs, debt, health issues, lack of job search skills.
By giving support and advice, we can help you to make links with a wide variety of services to help you address your barriers to work, for example, community initiatives, Voluntary Organisations, Jobcentreplus approved provision and Jobcentreplus caseload services.
We will tailor support and advice packages to suit you. We can act as a mentor to you and if required, advocate on your behalf.
We can support you in writing your own CV, looking for work in her Job Club sessions (Wednesday’s 9.00 a.m. - 11.00 a.m. at the centre - come in for coffee and a chat about your future job) and completing application forms, supporting letters and interview techniques.
We have at hand people with the following skills and experience:
• knowledge and experience of working with those looking for work; • knowledge and experience of working with other organisations in the locality; • experience of providing services for people in the community, a knowledge of employers in the area and an ability to combine that experience and knowledge to deliver employment related services; • engage, encourage, mentor and challenge to improve your employability so that you can find work either directly or following subsequent provision; • build partnerships with existing local provision and organisations who can serve customer’s needs; • work closely with Jobcentre Plus in each locality to help customers into work.
