Food Co-op
The Duffryn Food Co-op is run by a local group of volunteers who provide low cost produce for the local community. £2.50 buys you a bag of either Vegetables, Fruit or Salad. We purchase from a local wholesaler and the project works on a 'no profit' basis. You get it for what it costs and not a penny more!
We are always looking for new customers as well as new volunteers. Orders are placed a week in advance either at Duffryn Community Link, Nightingale Court, Forest Children's Centre or Duffryn Infant and Junior Schools. You can also place orders for the following week at The Den when you collect your orders.
The project runs from The Den at 7, Sandpiper Way, every Wednesday morning between 9am and 12noon.
Contact Duffyn Community Link for more details: Tel: 01633 816916

Supervised Contact Service
Supervised contact is the situation where the non-resident parent (the parent with whom the child does not live) has contact with the child under the supervision of another person. It is the responsibility of the supervisor to ensure that the best interests of the child are protected whilst on a contact visitation with the parent or person. Whilst we offer space for supervised contact visits, FCC staff are not responsible for the service or the delivery. This is managed by the families’ social worker, who have the individual responsibility for protecting the children during contact.
Supervised Contact is ordered by the Courts when there is thought to be a risk to children following family breakdown. It is normally referred by the Family Court, Solicitors, Children and Family Court Advisory and Support Service (CAFCASS), Social Services or other partner agencies.
We provide space for supervised contact in a neutral, comfortable environment where children can meet their parents, or other relatives from whom they are separated.
Our goal is to make supervised contact less stressful, especially for children. We treat everyone involved equally, without ever taking sides. There are currently three contact areas available, as well as use of a number of toys, books and games, computers for children of all ages.
If you wish to arrange your Supervised contact visits within FCC please speak to your social worker, who may then contact the Centre Manager.
