Parent Adviser

My name is Collette Elias.  I am the Parent Adviser from Job Centre Plus, based in the Forest Children’s Centre for the next two years.

Prior to this, I worked as a Lone Parent Outreach Adviser for four years, supporting Lone Parents back to work in Torfaen. Working closely with partner organisations to offer a wide variety of support for Lone Parents.

As a Parent Adviser I can offer guidance and advice in returning to work or training.  Using better off calculations to show how much better off parents can be in work.  I could help parents apply for vacancies, completing application forms and applying for job grants, tax credits, in work credit and council tax and housing benefit.  Supporting parents through the transitional period between unemployment and starting work.
